Honored!!

Thank you for the wonderful day full of meeting girls who share my aspirations, women living my dream and information on a gateway to the support I will need to succeed on my journey.  Thank you for the literacy bias workshop which was eye-opening, informative and thought provoking. It will help me be a better instructor, mentor and curriculum creator for the young girls I reach through my organization, See Me in STEM. Lastly, thank you for the beautiful trophy and recognition of my efforts to bridge the STEM gap for minorities and women.

Glory to God!!

Wow, God is good!! He placed a seed in my heart to start an organization to show minorities, especially girls, just like me, that anything is possible, even in STEM. I have an opportunity to win national recognition for me and my organization and much needed funding. I am thrilled to be going to Washington DC for the awards ceremony, to see the sights, and to meet with legislators. Please stay tuned for all the details and photos from my trip.

Yess!!! My First College Class

Thank you Professor Judith Perera for this wonderful history course. You exposed me to and taught me so much of what is missing from traditional high school history. Your class was timely, deep diving and thought provoking. You challenged a lot of the thoughts and beliefs I held based on what I had learned in previous history classes regarding the civil rights movement and the contributions of African Americans to United States history. Ultimately, you helped me complete the story of me and how I came to be, my place in history and the part I can play in the now and the future. You helped me understand the current struggles of African Americans as predicated on our past, the past they don’t teach us in high school. I am so happy your course was my first college course. You helped me strengthen my belief in myself and my unique abilities.
